In 2018 Jasmina Isakovic et al. published the article “Modeling of inhomogeneous electromagnetic fields in the nervous system: a novel paradigm in understanding cell interactions, disease etiology and therapy” in which they propose “the existence of a time-varying inhomogeneous electromagnetic field around axons which results from the variability in the current flow and can significantly impact cell motion within the central nervous system (CNS)”.
